Subway Art is not only the best-selling but also the most influential graffiti book of all time. Back in the 1970s – when graffiti was still in its infancy – Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant gained access to the New York graffiti scene, documenting it and finally presenting their results to the world for the first time in 1984.

30 years later, the two decided to publish the second reissue of the classic that became a bible for an entire generation of painters. The new edition contains more than 70 flicks not included in the original edition as well as new text passages in which Cooper and Chalfant comment on the book’s genesis, among other things.
